Earliar on the Orah Winfrey, David Blane set a new world record by holding his breathe for 17 minutes and 4 seconds. The previos record was 16 minutes and 32 set Feb. 10 of this year by Peter Colat of Switzerland. Blaine was submerized in a sphere shaped water tank on the set of The Oprah Winfrey Show. The next step for Blaine is to break a world record for staying awake, the record is 11 1/2 days.
